TAHOE CITY – Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance Wooden Boat Classic, Aug 7-9. Nautical history has been written on Lake Tahoe’s clear blue waters since the first wooden boat plied its waves and steamships first criss-crossed its shores in the 1800s. Over the years, wooden craft evolved, becoming faster, more streamlined and comfortable, and featuring trends reflecting popular culture worldwide. Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation celebrates this unique wooden boat classic on Tahoe’s North Shore in the marina of Sierra Boat Company in Carnelian Bay.

This year, the Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance features “Boats of the Twenties” as its marque class. Splendid examples of these boats are on display and participants will be able to ride on some of Tahoe’s most spectacular wooden boats throughout the afternoon. Tickets: $25-$100.
