First Fort Tour, Jul 17 and Sep 25
. This is the only time during the year that the First Fort site is open to the public. Guided tours are given approximately four times during the day. Fort Union National Park is located 26 miles north of Las Vegas off Interstate 25. Hours 9am-4pm.

5th Annual Rough Rider Motorcycle Rally de Las Vegas, Jul 23-25. The Motorcycle Rally hosts many events, including a Poker Run, a Tattoo Contest, Bike Show, the Biker Rodeo and much more. There will be a variety of food vendors and live music at the Historical Plaza Park.

Bean Day, Sep 5-7. Bean Day is a very popular event for everyone that lives in the northeast region of New Mexico. It begins on Saturday with a rodeo and dance, and continues through the weekend with another dance Sunday night, and ends on Monday with a parade, barbecue with plenty of beans and the last Rodeo.

Music From Angel Fire, Aug 20-Sep 5. World-class chamber music is presented in the beauty and seclusion of Northern New Mexico’s spectacular mountain communities of Angel Fire, Taos, Raton and Las Vegas. International artists including pianist Anne-Marie McDermott, flutist Tara Helen O’Connor, violinists Ida and Ani Kavafian, and cellist Peter Wiley will perform 15 exciting concerts featuring the great works of the Classical, Romantic, Baroque and Contemporary masters. A Lowell Liebermann piece commissioned specifically for Music From Angel Fire will premiere, and there is a Young Artists Program. Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta® Oct 2-10.
More than 600 balloons from around the world and an expected 800,000-plus spectators experience a variety of events throughout the nine-day festival from early morning mass ascensions to evening balloon glows, and gas balloon races to accuracy flight competitions.
