If on your next road trip, stopping in Northern New Mexico is not in your plans, make it part of your itinerary. Nothing personal. It’s just that you’ve done Northern New Mexico already, and you’ve got places to go, people to see... So you’re thinking you’ll just stick to the interstates and blow it off this time. You’ve done Santa Fe, and Taos, a couple of the pueblos, maybe Bandolier and Aztec Ruins National Monuments; all the interesting stuff. Or so you think.

Think again. You have missed some real gems:

One of the best, and definitely most accessible, petroglyph sites in the Southwest is located right next to Albuquerque. This is a place where you can scramble among the ancient rock art; where you can sit beside an image and conjure the life of its creator on a similar blue-sky day hundreds of years ago.
